The Escena Mobile International Festival of Art and Diversity is an event that brings together in Seville different inclusive artistic disciplines from both the national and international scene. Dance, theatre, plastic arts, music... come together in this showcase that began its journey in 2007. The Festival has managed to show professionals and the general public that art and diversity, far from being incompatible, are areas of mutual enrichment that can and should go hand in hand. And that it is a channel of awareness and sensitization to transform the environment. Each edition of Escena Mobile presents a wide and varied scenic, plastic arts and training program. The scenic proposal takes place at the Alameda Theater (Seville) and also in the street. Escena Mobile has established itself in the national Festival schedule and as an international reference. In 2017, the first Escena Mobile Choreographic Competition was held. In this way, the artistic direction of the Festival opted to support choreographic innovation, so that different creators could approach the field of inclusive dance and present their work within the Festival. The aim of this Competition is to promote and encourage performers and choreographers with and without disabilities to get involved in innovative artistic proposals. The aim is to create an international network of exchanges and experiences, as a creative production platform, with quality choreographic proposals. As a result of the pandemic, in 2021 Escena Mobile is reinventing itself and opening a call for Andalusian creators, in collaboration with the Andalusian Association of Dance Professionals (PAD). This initiative aims to support the creation and work of choreographers and performers, professionals residing in the Community, bring them closer to inclusive dance and promote a creative production platform open to diversity. But Escena Mobile is much more than a sample of representative theatre and dance shows. Its programme includes an extensive and complete programme of complementary activities, with a significant emphasis on training, including workshops on subjects as diverse as dance, circus, percussion, stage design, flamenco and audiovisual production, among many others. Escena Mobile also reserves an important space in its programme for plastic exhibitions, organising regular exhibitions that have shown the work of many internationally renowned artists with disabilities. Book presentations, audiovisual screenings, talks, batucada, and others complete the section of other artistic proposals that make this event an unrivalled framework for the arts as a driving force for social transformation.
