ASSITEJ Spain (Association of Theater for Children and Youth) celebrates its 5th Dramatized Reading Series on November 3, 4, and 5. Once again, the theatrical readings return to the Casa del Lector Auditorium in Matadero Madrid. The series consists of three dramatized readings of theatrical texts for children and young people, published by ASSITEJ Spain.

The readings of the plays become a unique and high-quality experience for family audiences, encouraging reading among children and highlighting the important publishing and advocacy work carried out by ASSITEJ Spain.

The reading of the texts is carried out by professional companies and is accompanied by the projection of images that, like digital scenery, frame and energize the dramatization, placing the activity somewhere between a reading and a theatrical production.

Stars and black holes among other things.

Bug Clan

Stars and Black Holes (among other things) tells how Violeta, with the help of her stuffed dog, Pimiento, and her friend 400, finally gets rid of the pesky bird catcher who lives across the street. After this terrifying adventure, she'll be a little more prepared to escape all the charlatans who want to lock her in a cage.

Stars and Black Holes (among other things) is a four-part monologue in which reality blends to form Violeta's personal universe, a universe where her best friends, big questions, and the occasional horrible monster coexist. On this space journey, Violeta becomes a little more gigantic.

Children from 10 years old and family audiences

Nov. 4, 12:00 p.m.
Vanilla air, Itziar Pascual
THE BARATARIA COMPANY
Vanilla air It is a comedy that smells of vacations, of the beach, of walks and endless naps. Its protagonist is Pablo, a seven-year-old boy, who is at the age of dreams, great friends and absent-mindedness. Vanilla air It is a family story about people who look for lost objects, and instead of finding them, they end up finding each other again. It is a story about children and adults, because everyone loses the things they think they need – time, cell phones, keys, video games – and in the end they gain other things – serenity, trust, friendship, respect. It is one of those stories that happen on vacation, when the doors of the houses are open and all you can hear is the sound of the dishwasher… And the smell of vanilla.

Children from 6 years old and family audiences

Tale of the Moon, by Philippe Soldevila
Homeric Theatre
In modern-day America, a narrator tells us part of Joan's father's childhood, which took place in Spain in the early 1940s. Joan waits for his father, Octavi, a victim of repression from the victorious faction in the Civil War, to be released from prison. Meanwhile, Joan makes up words. When Octavi appears, he tells his son he has to go on a very special trip...

In moon tale, the well-known Canadian author and director Philippe Soldevila, inspired by some stories by Pere Calders, pays tribute to his own father, Ignacio Soldevila Durante, who went into exile, abandoning his native Valencia.

Philippe Soldevila's artistic creation, recognized at festivals around the world, has always been influenced by his fascination with the topical issues of identity linked to emigration, cultural fusion, and exile.
