We regret to announce that the budget cuts for the 48% compared to the two previous editions of INAEM grants force us to cancel the theater and circus program for the 2024 ASSITEJ Circuit.
At ASSITEJ, we have done everything possible to find solutions that would make the project viable, proposing dialogue with the INAEM (National Institute of Statistics and Census) and adjusting the project to the allocated budget. Unfortunately, we have not received a response that offered viable solutions, and we have been forced to make this difficult decision.
The cancellation of the ASSITEJ Circuit's theater and circus program leaves not only the various stakeholders involved in the project in a vulnerable situation, but also the more than 11,560 children and young people who were expected to attend the 49 scheduled performances, but who will see their already limited programming cut short.

Despite this, some performing arts venues and companies have decided to maintain their programming, assuming the necessary efforts and demonstrating their commitment to children and young people.
