The Lleida Puppet Theatre Fair was founded in May 1990. Promoted and organized by the Lleida Puppet Theatre Centre, its purpose is to foster the market and dissemination of puppet and visual theatre, while also promoting its festive and participatory value among the public. The Fair hosts both indoor and outdoor performances. It programs between 20 and 30 companies per edition with 50 public performances and the presence of more than 100 programmers. The annual Performing Arts Book Fair is held in the surrounding area, along with a range of parallel activities, including exhibitions, meetings and spaces for reflection, book presentations, and educational activities. Lleida has become the ideal setting and meeting point for companies and programmers. The Fair attracts around 25,000 spectators.
