Oier’s mother and father go to the school where their son studies… where their son studied. Because everything changed the day the fire alarm went off, when the entire class ran out of the gym in terror… Oier was there too, yes; Oier and his skateboard. Oh yes, and the skateboard had blood on it. Oier had been training with his friend Tracy to be a superhero… But wait, if Tracy reminded Oier that they didn’t really want to be superheroes, they had nothing to do with superheroes. So… what’s wrong with Oier? Why is he acting so strange? Does he have a secret so big that he can’t even tell Tracy? And what does Mrs. Martin, the school psychologist, say…? It seems that Oier was seeing her a couple of times a week. Because it all started, in fact, after that fight on the basketball court. And the coach? What does HE have to do with all this?…
In Of Heroes and Monsters, Xabier López Askasibar gives voice to the different characters that make up the story of Oier, a boy who becomes a hero against his will... And through all of them he shows it to us, so that we take it into account and do not let it be repeated.
