Public:

Dan Zass is a group of professionals in the performing arts, special and social education, which since 2004 has been carrying out DANCE activities in which mainly people with functional diversity participate, although people without diversity can participate. With the premise of working from the capabilities of people and not from their limitations, spaces are favoured where people with functional diversity develop their artistic concerns, emphasizing the expressive and creative process of each person, having as an initial premise the individuality of each student. Maintaining the artistic orientation as our main axis, we are based on tools from contemporary dance, dance-theater, improvisation and contact dance. Our work is mainly developed within the Community of Madrid, with the possibility of moving to other autonomous communities. From Dan Zass we aim to promote the flexibility of the performing arts towards the participation and acceptance of diverse bodies and minds, which is enriched and grows with movements, thoughts and expressions, which have not traditionally been given. We aim to add through diversity. The Dan Zass Company emerges as a Plan to Raise Awareness towards the Performing Arts, where diverse minds, bodies and behaviors add to the stage proposals and favor the “call” of new audiences. The purpose of the Company is to create and distribute inclusive shows, where the professional work of the cast, made up of dancers with and without disabilities, is reflected and united in the same stage space for a family and general audience. In this way, we present the Contemporary Dance piece VESTIGIO, where starting from a concrete and substantive object, diverse adjectives are generated. The book, as a noun, acts as a link and common thread between the performers and the diverse atmospheres created. This is the starting point of the creative process of VESTIGIO, the same book, the same person, the same context, can be interpreted in different ways, different emotions and different places. VESTIGIO was born in 2020, presenting its first performances as a 15-minute piece. Along with the piece, we subsequently taught a Scenic Workshop on its Creative Process with the aim of accompanying new spectators in their reading of the Dance, bringing them closer to and presenting the Dance from a sensorial experience. In 2022, VESTIGIO reached 30 minutes. The diversity of possibilities, recreations and reflections of both the cast of dancers and the audience who had attended the first VESTIGIO, favored not only doubling its time, but also accompanying it to reach its entire life cycle, reaching 52 minutes. Now, as creators who have accompanied VESTIGIO in its process, is when we believe that it has reached its full extent and maturity.
