La Maquiné

Company / producer

Andalusia

Year of creation: 2008

Public:

Joaquín Casanova & Elisa Ramos, stage name LA MAQUINÉ. Both visual artists, after graduating in Fine Arts and acquiring extensive experience in the plastic and performing arts with professional companies in the sector, decided to join forces in 2008 to create their own works with plastic and musical content for the stage. They have performed 10 creative stage shows with a musical repertoire for young audiences. Their creations highlight the plastic, gestural and musical language as the main driving force. They have explored physical, gestural and plastic-visual theatre through music from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, bringing to the stage repertoires of composers Ravel, Falla, Debussy, Montsalvatge, Mompou, Stravinsky, Satie or Pulenc... among others. They create shows with a contemporary look, capturing our personal artistic seal, carrying out themselves all the artistic and plastic aspects that make up the work: design and construction of scenery, masks, stage sculpture, animated audiovisuals, lighting... among others. The creations of LA MAQUINÉ, described by experts as poetic-visual works, aim to provide viewers of all ages with a wide range of emotions, ranging from humour to tenderness, from absolute fun to dramatic force. As a producer, despite being a small company, large entities have entrusted us with their programming: they have co-produced shows with prestigious institutions such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Opera del Real in Madrid, the Granada International Music and Dance Festival, the Patronato de la Alhambra, AC/E Acción Cultural Española, the Ministry of Culture, the Junta de Andalucía, the Instituto Cervantes and La Caixa, among others. With our works we have performed in the best theatres and festivals in Spain and have toured internationally in France, the Netherlands, Morocco, Ireland, Chile, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Macau, Turkey, Portugal, Norway and the United Kingdom. In September 2020 they successfully produced the script and artistic direction of the MAX Performing Arts Awards Gala organised by SGAE at the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga.
