Peralta's puppet collection has been installed at the Puerta de Santiago in the city of Segovia, a recently renovated building that constitutes one of the gates of the medieval wall of the Castilian city.
The collection brings together 38 puppets spread across two floors. Iconic pieces such as those that starred in Romance of the Little Countess, the mice from the story of Frederick, and the impressive piece "Charlemagne Carried on a Litter by His Lackeys," a group of string puppets, can be seen, among many others, in the exhibition. The final piece created for the exhibition "Night" is also on display and represents one of the artist's masterworks in his search for mechanisms and manipulation of the pieces to achieve natural movement and greater expressiveness.
The Puerta de Santiago is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Holidays are open the same way. Admission fee: €2.50.
