Natanam is a tribute to early childhood, newborn, which is in constant movement, renewal and evolution. The DA.TE Danza company premieres the next Sunday, February 21 in it Pablo Neruda Theatre in Peligros (Granada), with a double feature: 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Natanam was lovingly created for the enjoyment of children and families.
Natanam means dance in Sanskrit. And that's the starting point of this performance: "We wanted to give the little ones, early childhood, a space and time of sensations based on the purity of dance." Two friends meet and sing; they know they're going to play, tracing a drawing on the ground that takes shape with the traces of salt in their hands. Almost without realizing it, the drawing and the game join the movement of their bodies, completing and blurring their recent work. It's part of the joy that comes from feeling united in making and unmaking.
During the show there is a constant, lthe cyclical construction and deconstruction of the scenic elements; just like in babies' games: building and tearing down. From there Natanam is about playing with and in the environment, about building and dismantling, about exploring through movement, discovering the presence of others, and laughing with them…
