Luis Matilla's play "El doncel del caballero" can be seen at the Conde Duque on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 December as part of Madrid City Council's Christmas programme.

Juan Margallo, director of one of the stage productions of this work, wrote: The Knight's Doncel tells of the relationship between an aged Quixote, about to die, and a young man who has his whole life ahead of him. The text tries to explain how friendship is possible between two human beings who are so far apart in time and how Don Alonso Quijano can teach Beltrán to find his own values to walk through life. We are faced with a theatrical proposal that aims to show child spectators a world in which justice, freedom and hope are possible.
