Nieves Rodríguez Rodríguez with 'The Sowing of Numbers', in the Spanish language mode, and Xabier Paya Ruiz with 'Beste behin batean', in the Basque language category, were the winners of the 29th Competition of Theatrical Texts for ChildrenThis contest is organized by the Pamplona City Council and the Navarra School of Theatre has received this year 207 works, 194 in Spanish and 13 in Basque, a total figure that represents an increase of more than 300% compared to last year.

Our most sincere congratulations to both authors and to the Navarra School of Theatre for continuing to promote creation aimed at children and young people.

In The sowing of numbers, The story unfolds in the recollections of an adult woman with a marked childhood. It speaks of resilience, personal power, and love in the face of brute force, and creates and suggests gentle symbolic and poetic universes amidst inhospitable realities. The text stands out for the mastery and maturity with which it combines dramatic power, literary quality, and delicacy. It subtly addresses current and "hard" issues affecting real children, such as child exploitation, abuse, rape, and abandonment.

Nieves Rodríguez Rodríguez studied Dramaturgy at the RESAD (National University of Madrid), holds a Master's degree in Creative Writing from the UCM (University of Madrid), and a Master's degree in Practical and Theoretical Philosophy from the UNED (National University of Madrid). She teaches Literature and Writing at the International School of Gesture in Madrid.
