Andalusia
From 1970 to 1974 I trained as an actor in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in the Stanislavski method with Raúl Serrano and other teachers, including Strasberg Sr.
From 1975 onwards I travelled for two years with Teatro Estudio de Buenos Aires through different Latin American countries. In 1977 I settled in Spain, where I became a Spanish citizen and, as an actor, I specialised in theatre for children. I lived in Madrid for 7 years, where I gave courses for teachers at the Institute of Educational Sciences (ICE) of the Complutense University, developing the “Evolutionary Theatre System by Ages”. I perfected my method of theatre pedagogy at the Taller de Actores Excéntricos (Eccentric Actors Workshop) that I created in 1980.
In 1985 I moved to Andalusia and worked as a theatre entertainer for the Town Hall of Almuñecar (Granada). There I created the Chiricate group, as a “Centre for theatre activities and research for children” where I put on various shows that included a tour of different European countries. I was awarded a scholarship by the Andalusian Government to take a clown training course with Phillipe Gaulier in Paris (France).
In Granada, I organized the International School of Expression and founded Proexdra, the Association of Teachers for Dramatic Expression in Spain, with the aim of disseminating and promoting the teaching of dramatic play and theatre in formal and non-formal education.
I have taught courses at the Universities of Deusto, Seville and Granada, at the UNED, at the Barcelona City Council School of Expression for 5 consecutive years, at the Granada Provincial Council, Teatro Lebrijano, the Municipal Theatre School of Zaragoza, the Galician Drama School, among others. I have organized the Theatre-Education Meeting in Madrid and the Spanish-Portuguese Symposium on Theatre-Education, the Andalusian Meetings on Theatre and Education in Seville, and I have pedagogically coordinated the 1st International Congress on Theatre and Education held in Tarragona in 1992.
I have attended international conferences in Portugal and Italy as a speaker.
For 10 years I have been an advisor and coordinator of the School Theatre Show organised by the CMIDE of the Seville City Council, coordinator for two years of the Youth Theatre Show organised by the Municipal Drug Plan of said City Council and coordinator of the Youth Theatre Competition of Fuenteovejuna (Córdoba).
I collaborated for 5 years with drama training courses in the MUSE program, sponsored by the MEC and the Yehudi Menujin Foundation. I participated as a speaker in the International Congress organized by both institutions, held in Altea (Alicante).
I currently direct the group “Gente de Teatro” from Morón de la Frontera with three works in repertoire about the female condition, in which I act as an actor (“Que sabes de sexo”, “Mujeres al límites” and “Tengo tu amor”).
I have been living quietly in Morón de la Frontera (Seville) for 17 years, where I organize and coordinate pedagogically the activities that “Proexdra, Association of Teachers for Dramatic Expression in Spain” organizes at the Viznar hostel (Granada).
