Nicoletta Cappello is Scenic creator, professor and doctoral researcher in Art and Education in co-supervision between the University of Girona and the University of Catania, currently on a visit to the PhD in Performing Arts from Helsinki University of the ArtsHer doctoral project is dedicated to participatory performance as a tool for corporal learning and critical and decolonial pedagogy and is developed in collaboration with the Coordination of the Master in Dance Pedagogy at Uniarts Helsinki. She has trained in the creation and pedagogy of physical theatre at the Royal School of Dramatic Arts from Madrid and in the Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany. Her work explores the border between theatre, performance and education with a strong focus on bodily activation and audience participation. She is the founder of THE PUBLIC, a project that generates both participatory shows with educational value for theatres and classrooms, as well as educational programs in which performing arts are the fundamental axis of learning, as well as pedagogical resources and teaching materials based on theatre.

She is a collaborating agent of the Planea Network of Art and School with Radio.me and Stato Vegetale and is a professor at ECC- European Cultural Centre for Performance Art. She has been a trainer of teachers and artists in teaching innovation projects for UFV, UCM, UniBO, Accademia d'Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi di Milano, among others.

His art and education projects are: “Radio.Me” (2022), radio-theatrical creation with teenagers about identity and mental health, School of Theatre and Thought with teenagers and children from Cañada Real (2022), “Plant State” (2021) participatory show and educational resource for environmental education, and “Dramasophy” (2019) participatory show and educational resource for the classroom on adolescence and philosophy. His plays have been shown in prestigious theaters such as the The Abbey Theatre in Madrid, Matadero Madrid and the Libero Theatre in Palermo.
