State Council of Performing Arts and Music

Our entity is part of the State Council of Performing Arts and Music of the INAEM.

The State Council of Performing Arts and Music is a collegiate body dependent on the INAEM, with a representative and advisory nature, which channels the participation of the cultural sectors of music, dance, theatre and circus.

The main purpose of the State Council is to promote communication, cooperation and exchange of opinions in the field of performing and musical arts and to channel the requests and proposals of the sector in its relations with the General State Administration, allowing for the collection and facilitating the participatory definition of priorities in these areas. To this end, its members include representatives of associations and organizations of the sectors, of the state, autonomous and local administration, and members selected on the basis of their recognized prestige, experience, or special technical knowledge.

In order to fulfil its objectives, the State Council of Performing Arts and Music carries out the following functions:

  • To promote communication, cooperation and the exchange of opinions in the field of performing and musical arts and to channel the requests and proposals of the sector in its relations with the General State Administration.
  • Provide advice on the design, development, evaluation and monitoring of public policies in the field of performing and musical arts that are the responsibility of the State.
  • Provide an opinion on the preparation of regulatory projects carried out in the field of performing and musical arts in which the State has jurisdiction.
  • Collaborate with other institutions and bodies of a similar nature at international, regional or local level, which carry out their functions in the field of performing and musical arts, paying special attention to the cultural and linguistic diversity of the State.
  • Provide an opinion on all matters relating to promotion measures, public calls for subsidies, cooperation policy, priorities for supporting the cultural industry and its international projection, and other actions of the INAEM in its relations with other Public Administrations and the private sector.
  • To formulate considerations regarding the role of artistic creation centres and other units dependent on the INAEM within the framework of the performing and musical arts sector.
