Dear members,
It's a joy to announce that this ASSITEJ workshop project, which began in 2008 in Venezuela, continues to gain momentum and spark enthusiasm among the various participants who participate.
This was recently the case at the latest workshop, generously hosted by Assitej-Denmark. The workshop took place in a fabulous space, the Theatre Center (school-theater-residence) in Odsherred, just outside Copenhagen.
Twenty artists, including directors, playwrights, dancers, and actors from nine countries (Argentina, Venezuela, Serbia, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Spain, and Denmark), shared their concerns and experiences on stage. Cultural diversity was a key element in addressing taboos on stage, a phenomenon that, we believe, must be addressed with perspective.
The meeting with the children at their school and later at the theater, where we showed pieces created in the workshop, was a lesson for creators.
Assitej-Spain contributed two participants to the workshop, which was coordinated by Jorge Padín, in collaboration with a Danish actor and an Icelandic director.
We will soon post a detailed report on the activity on this website.
