19th ASSITEJ Spain Prize for Theatre for Children and Youth

ASSITEJ·Spain, with the aim of stimulating and generating greater interest in quality theatre, is announcing the 19th ASSITEJ Spain Prize for Theatre for Children and Youth.

Authors of any nationality are welcome to participate. The works must be written in Spanish and adapted to the theatrical genre, as well as for a children's or young adult audience. The theme, structure, and number of characters are entirely open. Furthermore, the works must be unpublished and not have received any awards or been submitted to other competitions.

Each contestant may submit a maximum of two works, which must be sent by email to [email protected] in PDF format and with a minimum length of 30 pages.

A single prize of €2,500 and a commemorative trophy will be awarded to the best work submitted, as judged by the jury. In addition, the winning work may be published by the Association within its own Theatre Collection. The author will also retain all rights to the text.

The deadline for applicants to submit their submissions is October 30, 2016, and the jury will announce its decision by February 10 of next year.
